What PhotoShelter is
PhotoShelter has two related products under one brand. PhotoShelter for Photographers is an individual-photographer platform: portfolio sites, client galleries, proofing and print/image sales built on templates. PhotoShelter for Brands (the product formerly sold as Libris) is the organizational side — a cloud DAM for teams that generate and distribute large volumes of photography and video, with role-based permissions, AI-assisted tagging and content-distribution tools aimed at marketing, communications and athletics departments, publishers and photo agencies, per PhotoShelter's own site.
That's a different starting point than a general enterprise DAM like Bynder or Brandfolder, which are built first for marketing brand assets of every media type. PhotoShelter's workflows — galleries, licensing, embedded IPTC metadata, print fulfillment — are shaped around photography as the primary asset, which is also why it shows up repeatedly as the tool of choice for university athletics and communications departments in our education & universities coverage: those departments shoot constantly and need galleries and rights control more than generic brand-portal polish.

Galleries and portfolios. Per vendor documentation, PhotoShelter offers branded, templated galleries and lightboxes for sharing curated sets internally or with the public — the feature both product lines are built around.
Licensing and e-commerce.
